A dental veneer is a thin shell that is custom made to fit the tooth. Veneers are bonded to the front of the teeth, changing their color, shape, size or length to design a new smile for the patient.
Veneers can be made of porcelain or a composite resin material, with porcelain being the best choice because it resists stains better and looks more natural.
Diagnosis and treatment planning.
In this first step the patient will explain to the dentist the results he/she is trying to achieve. The dentist will examine the teeth to ensure that the veneers will be adequate and will discuss the process and its limitations. X-rays and dental impressions of the mouth and teeth may be taken.
